Lynn's Boots

Lynn's Boots, 10" x 8", Acrylic on paper

I am a member of an artist run gallery, Art On The Square, in Waxahachie TX.  We are required to work a 4 hour shift each month.  In January the artist who was scheduled to work with me was not able to work that day.  So Lynn worked in her place.

When she walked in, I immediately noticed her boots.  They were cute and looked comfortable.  I said to her, "This may sound like an odd request, but may I take photos of your boots?  I think I want to do a painting."   She didn't hesitate to take them off, put them on a table and let me take as many photos as I wanted.  I'm not sure why I wanted to paint them.  Maybe because I've been exploring other subject matter.  Or just because they caught my eye.

Lynn's Boots is one of seven of my paintings in the Wide Spectrum Exhibit in Arlington TX at the Bob Duncan Center, April 9, 2019 - June 3, 2019.
