2015 FWCAC 9 x 12 Works on Paper Show

The Fort Worth Community Arts Center held its annual works on paper show.  Artists from all over the country send original artwork on paper that fits in a 9" x 12" envelope.  This is my artwork that I submitted to the show.

Cowgirl Boots, 5" x 7", Ink on paper

This is a Linocut monoprint.  The image in the middle is the piece of linoleum that I use to print the cowgirl boots on the left.   The image on the right is the print after it was enhanced with watercolor.

The linoleum is first carved, then the ink is rolled on. A sheet of paper is dampened then placed over the inked linoleum.  A brayer (roller) or spoon is used to transfer the image to the paper.  Then the paper with the image in reverse is pulled off the linoleum. Many prints can be made with this process.  They are signed and numbered.  Each one is considered an original.

I am currently experimenting with various printmaking techniques - linocuts, intaglio and gelli.
